A Georgia blues legend passed away over the weekend. Precious Bryant was someone I grew up with as she was from near my hometown, and I always remember seeing her playing live around town at different events. She played frequently at one of my fave places in the entire world – Pasaquan. I always just thought of her as a local yokel blues musician, but shortly after moving to London, I was at Foyles bookstore and got a nice surprise on seeing her cd for sale by the register. I remember saying to myself “They know who Precious Bryant is in London? Well, I’ll be, ain’t that somethin!” She was a sweet lady & a great performer. Rest in peace Precious!
