Sadie Lee’s Intense Portraits

Apologies for the sparse posting! As I mentioned previously, I am in the ZONE with my new animated short film. I can’t describe the feeling, but it’s brilliant! The prep takes so long and it’s arduous and painful, but then I reach this point of no return and I can’t stop working. Last week though, I stepped out of the Zone and had one of the funnest nights in ages! In fact so much fun I skinned my knee! Ow!! I went to a magnificent art show at Ketchum Pleon. You may remember I had my debut show there back in March. Well the show on now is truly incredible and displays the work of award winning portrait artist Sadie Lee. Her show is called Transformers and features very dramatic, “warts and all”, larger than life paintings of iconic people in the gay underground. Including Warhol Superstar – Holly Woodlawn above. Her work is bold and exciting! I did tell her I wouldn’t want her to do my portrait. Ha Ha! I’m so vain!! The show is up until the end of October at 35-41 Folgate Street, London, E1 6BX. So if you’re in East London, go check it out. It’s amazing! Click the pic for more info!! More soon, Promise! oxo gd
